Schools Partnership Programme is edt's flagship school improvement programme, putting collaboration and peer review at the forefront of sustainable change.

Engeza is a technical assistance hub supporting foundational literacy and numeracy programmes across Sub-Saharan Africa. Working in partnership with the Gates Foundation, edt’s role is to manage the $1.5 million Engeza fund and operate the hub.

Based on the Initial Teacher Training and Early Career Framework (ITTECF) we are supporting teachers with our new Early Career Training Programme (ECTP) for early career teacher entitlement (ECTE). Available from the 2025-26 academic year onwards, our new programme offers specialist training for early career teachers and mentors. It helps them improve practice while building confidence and resilience, leading to better job satisfaction and retention.

Through the Alexandria Schools Trust, we build upon the existing skillsets of teachers of refugees and school leaders in the use of English as a medium of instruction, to help ensure high-quality teaching for refugee students. 

Behaviour Hubs supports school leaders by helping them to create calm, safe and supportive environments – with pupils in schools and ready to learn.

Through our Building Learning Foundations (BLF) programme, we worked with the Rwandan Ministry of ´óÏ㽶ÊÓƵ, Rwanda Basic ´óÏ㽶ÊÓƵ Board and National Inspection Authority to strengthen Rwanda’s education system.

We recruit, orient and manage around 200 qualified, experienced, expatriate teachers of English each year and provide ongoing quality assurance and support to the Bruneian Ministry of ´óÏ㽶ÊÓƵ.

Our Early Grade Reading and Mathematics programme (EGRAM) in Sierra Leone aims to develop the capacity of teachers to improve reading and mathematics skills among children in primary Grades 1-3.

A teacher training programme nurturing a new generation of maths and physics teachers - from their undergraduate degree through to their ECT years.

A holistic, six-year project specifically designed to strengthen the transition of these girls from primary into either secondary school or alternative, productive livelihood pathways.

Edt provided capacity building and quality assurance support to the Ministry of ´óÏ㽶ÊÓƵ in Jordan as part of the launch of Learning Bridges in 2020. The programme was designed to help one million students recover and accelerate their learning following the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

This programme has now ended. The Department for ´óÏ㽶ÊÓƵ’s National Tutoring Programme (NTP) supported schools by providing funding to spend on academic support delivered by trained and experienced tutors and mentors.

Our NPQs empower teachers, school leaders and early years leaders to create conditions for change, embedding evidence-informed teaching and learning in their setting.

TARGET provided essential technical support to projects focused on improving quality of education for all in Ethiopia, with an emphasis on inclusion and equity for marginalised learners.

The TEACH (Teacher Effectiveness and Equitable Access for All Children) programme is designed to enhance teachers’ effectiveness and improve learning outcomes across Zimbabwe.
